Summer Fun

Summer Fun...this year has been pretty uneventful, so far.  No major vacations or trips like last year, just enjoying our time together.  Shayne was planning on a trip to New York to visit Auntie Jenn, Isaac and Ezra, but instead earned himself some tutoring time at school for 6 weeks which he was super excited about, so now the plan is to see each other around either Thanksgiving or Christmas.  We have been having fun though, swimming, watching movies, trying to stay cool, you know, the usual Phoenix summer fun.  We had Sean here for a few days last month and instead of spending hundreds of dollars at Wet 'n Wild, we decided to dedicate one day to a "pool party" day, and we had milk shakes and soda, and chips and queso, and spent the whole day by the pool.  It was pretty fun actually, and we saved a ton of money!  Not to say they didn't spend every other day by the pool, but that one day was "special"...haha!

This is Shayne's first swim of the season

Abby was helping Jake install the dishwasher...

Shayne had fun with this one...Abby loves to be sprayed with the hose, so he takes full advantage of that!  He continuously sprays her and she just laughs and laughs!

Then he wanted to make her a "water slide"

The water table

She loves to swim with her bubba

Shayne-he turned 13 this year-CRAZY!

Wildlife World Zoo

We went to the Wildlife World Zoo today, and had a lot of fun.  Grandma Karen and Grandpa Carl went with us.  It was a beautiful day, we couldn't have asked for better weather.

Abby was pretty interested in almost all the animals.  She seemed to be able to find all of them we pointed out to her.

Here we were looking at and feeding the ducks, Abby was pretty interested in them!

Giraffes!! Oh the giraffes are her favorite!! (Or so we think).  We were able to walk up to the overlook and feed them, it was pretty neat, they stick out their tongue, and you just drop the pellets right onto it!!

This was the baby...she could hardly reach high enough to get any pellets!

We went into the petting zoo...she wasn't afraid at all, walked right up to all the animals and wanted to pet them!

 There were two baby goats!

Karen and Shayne went on the Log ride.
They only got a little wet :)

Shayne wanted to feed the stingrays...

That was until he saw Karen's reaction to feeding them!!

 She was all tuckered out!!
